Chicken Therapy Chairs were primarily designed to assist the recovery of rescued battery hens who had sustained horrific injuries during the depopulation process. Chickens benefitting from the use of these chairs had undergone surgeries to repair multiple limb and bone fractures using bone pinning techniques.
Our aim is to provide chicken carers with an affordable product that assists them to better manage injured or disabled chickens with rehabilitation and recovery. The Therapy Chair allows for adjustable positioning enabling the chicken to maintain normal circulatory function and to be able to undertake physiotherapy exercises with greater ease.
We hope to provide chickens with a comfortable support aid that benefits not only their recovery while incapacitated but helps improve their mobility and overall wellbeing.
Therapy chairs are made to order. The standard model (as shown) is designed mainly to suit medium sized and light breed chickens but adjustable support straps may adapt to accommodate taller and shorter birds. We also make other sizes, XSmall & Small which suits younger chickens or breeds like silkies, Large & XLarge which suits heavy breeds or roosters & Chick which suits chicks age 1 to 5 weeks of age. Custom built chairs can be ordered to suit individual needs. * Please contact us to order or for a custom quote.
We recommend . . .
* Chickens are not left unattended in the chair for extended periods of time * Precautions should be taken around water bowls for chickens with neurological conditions * Consultation with your veterinarian for post surgical recovery and management advice * Chairs to be used on flat even surfaces only, Using chairs on rough or uneven terrain may pose a safety risk to your chicken.
